Allied Domecq to be sold for $14 billion

Article Abstract:

Allied Domecq PLC of the United Kingdom is to be acquired by Pernod Ricard S.A. and Fortune Brands Inc. for approximately $14 billion. Allied Domecq PLC securities have increased by 38 percent since the talk of takeover and have risen by 21 percent since the start of April. The deal is still in need of approval by regulators.

De Beers, LVMH near pact for branded diamond jewelry

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA has formed a joint venture with De Beers Consolidated Mines Ltd. for selling branded diamond jewelry. Under the deal, De Beers would take advantage of LVMH's luxury brand management expertise.
