Alrosa nears deal for Polyus stake

Russia's state-owned diamond mining firm OAO Almazy Rossii-Sakha is reportedly leading a consortium to purchase a 25%-plus-one-share stake in OAO Polyus Gold, the nation's biggest gold mining company. The consortium will make the purchase from the holding company Onexim. The deal is valued at approximately $2.1 bil.

Evraz confirms $2.3 billion deal for Oregon Steel
