City forum debates the future of Paternoster Square

Article Abstract:

The redevelopment of Paternoster Square in London, England, will only be undertaken successfully if the City of London purchases the site and coordinates a scheme, according to property consultant Chris Kennedy, speaking at a recent meeting of the City Architecture Forum. The City of London has traditionally not become involved in property issues. In contrast, other speakers supported the idea of a piecemeal redevelopment.

Knee-jerk no help in talk of the tower

Article Abstract:

The millennial tower designed for London, England, by Sir Norman Foster has attracted exaggerated reactions among both its supporters and its critics. It is now time to try to have a logical, critical debate about this structure, which is set to be a significant landmark in the city at the beginning of the 21st century. It has the potential to be a celebratory symbol, and for this reason should be regarded positively.
