Analysts go sour on Vitasoy: price war hurts Hong Kong firm's prospects

Article Abstract:

Analysts are advising against investing into Vitasoy International Holdings Ltd despite the drop in its stock price from HK$3 to HK$2.30. They believe that the soy milk manufacturer has not fully recovered from the fiasco involving the recall of 43 million cartons of soy milk in China, which sent the company's profits plunging by 75%. Another big problem for the company in the Asian market is the price war in Hong Kong. However, the company's prospect in the US looks bright due to the growing popularity of soy milk among Americans.

Will Asian TV make its mark? Local media may gain ground

Article Abstract:

Asian television broadcasters could improve their viewership in the wake of the terrorist attacks in the United States. Channel News Asia in Singapore hopes to compete with the British Broadcasting Corp. and Cable Network News by providing local relevance to worldwide events. Because there are no reliable viewership ratings in Asia, some broadcasters must simply rely on how many homes their signal reaches, whether anyone is watching or not.
