Andersen Consulting chooses Forehand to be chief executive

Article Abstract:

Andersen Consulting has appointed Joe W. Forehand to become its new chief executive officer (CEO) and its new managing partner. The 51-year old Mr. Forehand is replacing George Shaheen, who joined Webvan Group Inc. Mr. Forehand formerly served as Andersen's global managing partner for its worldwide communications and high-technology market division. The older workers have a great deal of respect and affection for Mr. Forehand.

KPMG International taps Butler to succeed Sharman as chairman

Article Abstract:

Stephen G. Butler was appointed by KPMG International as its new chairman. Mr. Butler will be replacing Colin M. Sharman. KPMG International is the parent company of KPMG LLP. The company's international council voted unanimously in favor of Mr. Butler's appointment. Mr. Sharman is scheduled to leave KPMG International by the end of September 1999. This would conclude his four-year term as chairman.

PricewaterhouseCoopers directs employees to drop investments

Article Abstract:

PricewaterhouseCoopers instructed approximately 10,000 employees in the US to end their investments in companies that are audited by the firm. The order follows the results of an investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of PricewaterhouseCooper. The company was believed to have been in violation of the SEC's auditor-independence regulations.
