Applying the flow-capturing location-allocation model to an authentic network: Edmonton, Canada

Article Abstract:

The flow-capturing location-allocation model was employed for the morning-peak traffic in Edmonton, Canada. Exact and vertex substitution solution methods were found to require very complex calculations but greedy solution methods were very efficient and were extremely robust. The greedy algorithm's robustness may be improved by the structured flow present in a real-life urban road network. The flow-capturing model was determined to overcome flow cannibalization and redundant flow-capturing.

Nonlinear goal programming models quantifying the bullwhip effect in supply chain based on ARIMA parameters

Article Abstract:

The application of heuristic programming techniques for non-linear goal programming of preference functions, to develop auto regressive integrated average models of supply chain management, based on the quantification of supply chain performance, is described.
