Thailand's ability to produce skilled workers remains hampered by weak education system

Article Abstract:

Thailand suffers a shortage of skilled workers and the problem is expected to worsen in the coming years because of the country's poor education system. There is a huge gap in the quality of education received by the country's upper and lower classes. The rich get to attend good schools which are comparable to any in the developed world while the poor, especially those in rural areas, have to be satisfied with primitive facilities.

As Thais adopt western food habits, calorie concerns hardly make a dent

Article Abstract:

Many Thais have begun to adopt western food habits such as preferences for salty snacks, junk foods and fast food restaurants. Health analysts noted that the shift towards western food habits has resulted in a rise in obesity and other diet-related health problems. Moreover, a growing number of young women have little knowledge of traditional Thai cookery and many households rarely cook meals.
