Article Abstract:

Vietnam's Air Navigation Dept has begun the major upgrade of air traffic management facilities within the Hanoi flight information region. The department has contracted Alenia Marconi Systems to supply an en route, approach and tower SATCAS 2000 automation system. The system includes duplicate radar input, multi radar tracking, playback and flight data processors and seven 2K by 2K controller workstations and two tower workstations.

Raytheon boosted by orders

Article Abstract:

NASA's Ames Research Center has awarded the Air Traffic Management System Development and Integration task order contact, which is valued at up to $150 million, to a Raytheon Aircraft Co-led consortium. The contract includes provisions for research, development and analysis of advanced air transportation technologies and concepts. Other members of the consortium are SAIC, Smiths Industries Aerospace and Booz Allen and Hamilton.

Article Abstract:

Jenoptik Impulsphysik, a German manufacturer of advanced aviation metereological systems, has reported a strong order book for 2000. The company has secured contracts from 11 airports in Greece to supply and install instrumented runway visual range systems. It has also been chosen to supply an IRVR system for two runways at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel and at Salalah Airport in Oman.
