Asian firms share U.S. rate-rise fears

Article Abstract:

Asian companies such as China National Offshore Oil have cancelled initial public offerings and other firms in the region have changed planned stock prices because of rising fears of higher interest rates. US markets are weakening, so Asian stock markets are also showing concerns about Federal Reserve Board plans to raise interest rates.

Ford turns grim as SUV sales stall

Ford Motor Co. of the United States is forecasting earnings cuts of 29 percent and General Motors Corp. has forecast negative cashflow of $2 billion. Dwindling sales of sports utility vehicles, weak dollar and high oil prices are contributing factors.

Ford will increase its global offering despite rating cut

Ford Motor Co. is planning to increase its worldwide bond offering. The car maker will offer as much as $7.5 billion in bonds in four tranches.
