Asiana clings to bold expansion plans, despite FAA inquiry of some pilots

South Korea's Asiana Airlines seems determined to pursue its ambitious expansion plans despite of an ongoing investigation into allegations that some of its pilots committed fraud to obtain licenses from the US Federal Aviation Administration. Pres. Park Sam Koo, whose family corporation owns 76% of the airlines, aims to transform Asiana into the world's leading airlines by the first decade of the 21st century. He hopes to increase the number of its aircraft from the current 39 to 71 by 2000.
