BAA beats off 3 rivals to run Eurotunnel's retail business

Article Abstract:

BAA PLC prevailed in the battle to manage Eurotunnel PLC's retail business. BAA defeated three other competitors for the 15-year deal. The company is planning to establish airport-style shopping malls at Eurotunnel's Channel terminals, which are located near Folkestone and Calais. Eurotunnel said that it decided in 1998 to find a partner to develop nonduty free sales.
