BBL Life France wants to take advantage of the change in the French legislation which should drive a significant amount of money towards insurance policies. Subsequently, the new France-based entity will market its products in Belgium, from France. The company, which wants to develop products that might be sold through BBL France's network of rich clients, has announced two new products, an estate product and a DSK one . BBL Life France, worth FFr 10mn in capital, was set up by BBL France and BBL Life, two subsidiaries of BBL.

Photo Hall announces a pay out ratio worth 30% in 1998, representing BFr 45mn, to be increased furthermore to reach 35% in the year 2002. The Belgian network of outlets selling photo and leisure electronics equipment, worth BFr 4.4bn in sales in 1997, expects to increase this by 8-9% over the next two years. The group estimates that an additional 40 outlets might be opened in Belgium, especially the Flanders region with a focus on 200-m2-large units in shopping centres in an area with a population of 30,000 as a minimum.
