BETZDEARBORN MAY SHELVE ESOP, WITH PARENT'S TAKEOVER

The employee stock ownership plan for the Indian employees of BetzDearborn India Pvt Ltd may be shelved for the time being as its parent company BetzDearborn Inc has been takenover by Hercules Inc. The chemicals and water treatment company of Bangalore has undertaken a Rs12 crore expansion programme at present and plans to set up a new unit at Hoskote. The new name for the company under the Hercules banner is to be decided in a few months. (khr)

NEW RCF AMMONIA STORAGE FACILITY OPENED

Article Abstract:

The Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF) has opened its Rs29 crore, 10,000 tonnes ammonia storage unit at Trombay fertiliser complex. RCF has entered into alliance with Uhde India to build two ammonia storage tanks with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes each. The company has earmarked about Rs3,000 crore towards modernisation and restructuring of its old plants in the next few years. (gs)
