Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd is being portrayed as a market outperformer by analysts based on its major presence in the domestic power equipment sector and the orders won by it through the competitive bidding route the company has shown revenues of Rs33.9 billion from the power business in 1997-98. It has been successful in winning 86 percent of the power projects funded by multilateral agencies over the last 5 years and has not lost a single project which has been decided through competitive bidding in the last two years. BHEL BAGS EPC CONTRACT FOR TNEB GAS PROJECT
Article Abstract:
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has won the Rs260 crore engineering, procurement and construction contract for the 100 mw natural gas based power project of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB). BHEL is to complete the project, to be set up at Kovilkalappal in Thiruvar district, on a turnkey basis by June 2000. BHEL will also give guidance to TNEB's staff in operation and maintenance for one year. (khr)
