Caspian oil find has large potential

The Kashagan oil field in the Caspian Sea off Kazakhstan is the largest oil find in the world since the Prudhoe Bay discovery off Alaska in 1969. The field is owned by BG Group, ExxonMobil, ENI SpA, Royal Dutch/Shell Group, Phillips Petroleum, Inpex Nord and TotalFinaElf.

Caspian Sea pipeline is in operation after long struggle

Article Abstract:

The article discusses how the Caspian Sea pipeline has resumed operation after 13 years. This breakthrough should enable Chevron Corp. to realize the potential of the Tengiz oilfield, which has Chevron's biggest concentration of reserves. Chevron has a 50% share of Tengiz.

BP suspends oilfield work in Caspian Sea after military act

Article Abstract:

BP PLC has suspended oilfield work in the southern Caspian Sea after an armed Iranian military ship ordered two oilfield survey vessels to move north. Iran's overt action was the first on the Caspian during the post-Soviet period.
