BSkyB's Ian West resigns, signaling step to merge units

Ian West, British Sky Broadcasting PLC's (BSkyB) managing director, announced his resignation. The move signaled the first move in Chief Executive Tony Ball's strategy to re-merge BSkyB's distribution and entertainment operations. Mr. West has been with BSkyB since it was founded in 1989. According to company officials, Mr. West did not reveal any definite plans for the future.

Telstra is aiming to boost sales, business in Asia

Article Abstract:

Australian-based Telstra Corp. is planning to acquire businesses in the Asian region. Such a strategy is designed to improve the company's revenues in Asia. Telstra wants to more than double its Asia revenue from approximately A$600 million (382.6 million euros) over the next five-year period. The company is currently studying two or three partial acquisitions in Asia.
