BUCKEYE TO SET UP EXECUTIVE PARK

Article Abstract:

Buckeye Corporation (India) Ltd, a division of the Buckeye group of Singapore, is planning to set up a 350-acre executive park in India with an investment of Rs1000 crore. The park is to house office and residential blocks, an international country club, a conference hotel, shopping and entertainment centre, a school and a 200-bed hospital. The company has been surveying Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune as possible locations for its project. The company is also planning to set up a medical city in India, for which work is expected to begin by 1999. (khr)

The provident funds sector has invested huge amounts in three debt issues of the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (Telco) and IL&FS. While HDFC has raised Rs195 crore from the provident funds sector, IL&FS has raised Rs120 crore from this sector. Telco plans to close its issue at Rs138 crore as compared to Rs100 crore planned originally. (ag)
