The US contractor already invested in European rail links, roads and power facilities, as an operating partner. Bechtel is positioning itself to take advantage of a move by European nations to seek private investors to fund what used to be are deemed public-sector infrastructure projects. A next step for the company is likely to be a multimillion dollar contract for the expansion and operation of the Lutton Airport in the UK.
