Bechtel profits from tighter government belts

Article Abstract:

Bechtel Group Inc. is seeing benefits brought by the public-private partnerships in a number of industries as Europe's cash-strapped governments cut their public expenses. The US contractor already invested in European rail links, roads and power facilities, as an operating partner. Bechtel is positioning itself to take advantage of a move by European nations to seek private investors to fund what used to be are deemed public-sector infrastructure projects. A next step for the company is likely to be a multimillion dollar contract for the expansion and operation of the Lutton Airport in the UK.
