Beijing outlines new measures to fight piracy

Article Abstract:

As a follow-up to commitments made by Premier Wu Yi at the U.S.-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade, China is strengthening its policies on trademark, copyright, and patent law violations. Lower thresholds for legal action against violators will be set, and for the first time, China will crack down on street sales of pirated sound and video recordings.

Israel is attacking the northern country of Lebanon in an attempt to quell Hezbollah. Fallout has created a humanitarian crisis in both Israel and Lebanon. United States Secretary of State Condaleezza Rice is arriving in the Middle East next week to aid peace negotiations.

GM examines design of Chinese rival's car
