Bell Atlantic, Bell South earnings rise

Article Abstract:

Bell Atlantic Corp. and Bell South Corp. posted improvements in their earnings for the second-quarter of 1999. Bell Atlantic posted $1.2 billion (1.15 billion euros) in earnings for the period. Bell South posted $980 million in earnings, thereby exceeding the forecasts of analysts by 47 cents per share. Both companies were helped by their data and wireless services.

BellSouth net dropped 11% in quarter
