Article Abstract:

BestFit is an operations research software that determines the best distribution for data. It also finds the parameters that optimize goodness-of-fit. Users can choose from three criteria for ordering 21 possible distributions in a decreasing order, namely, Chi-square, Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Anderson-Darling. It offers four major tools, namely, AutoFit, Wizard, Results and Stats. The software is easy to use and is backed by an excellent tutorial.

STRategic ADviser (STRAD) is an intellectually interesting software package that is intended for managers and small planning groups. STRAD, which is installed with the assistance of a SETUP program, provides managers quick and flexible support in times of decisionmaking. The software package is also useful in dealing with uncertainty and in establishing incremental progress since it is based on strategic choice approach.
