Malaysia's Instant Cafe Theatre Company recently, and for the first time was slapped with censorship. The Kuala Lumpur city government declared that this irreverent performance group would no longer receive a performing license, all because of on anonymous letter sent to a local newspaper.

The growing unrest in Malaysia following the arrest of former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on allegations of cronyism and corruption is discussed. The favorable policies adopted by the new Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmed Badawi are robbing the opposition of their initiatives.
