Board of BCI names Civaschi chief executive

Article Abstract:

Banca Commerciale Italiana SpA (BCI) appointed Aldo Civaschi as its new chief executive. The appointment comes six weeks after a new shareholder group gained control of BCI in an attempt to terminate merger plans with UniCredito Italiano SpA. BCI is the fourth-largest bank in Italy. On June 21, 1999 the bank's stockholders conducted a meeting in which they voted for a new board of directors.
