Bradshaw bag delivery for Stansted

Article Abstract:

London Stansted has chosen two types of Bradshaw electric tow tractors aimed at moving up to 1,500 baggage trolleys per hour. Two four-wheel cabbed T6 tractors operate outside the terminal, returning up to 50 trolleys at a time. Three pedestrian-controller three-wheel PCM machines are utilized inside to push up to 15 trolleys at a time between the main concourse. The motor-powered units comply with health and safety requirements for mechanical assistance and include dead-man controls.

Telescopic first for Asia

Article Abstract:

Technologia Europea Aplicada al Movimiento (TEAM) supplied the glass-sided passenger boarding bridges at Hanoi, Vietnam's new terminal at Noi Bai International Airport. The Spanish manufacturer delivered the five telescopic boarding bridges and semi-automatic Optical Guided Docking System units in Nov 2000, the first delivered by TEAM to Southeast Asia. The bridges measure 35m in length and a minimum docking height of 1.6m.

UK cargo interests merge

Article Abstract:

Airport handling firm Menzies Transport Services has merged its UK ground operations with GlobeGround, the ground handling unit of Lufthansa. The merged company will be called Menzies World Cargo. The new firm will integrate the cargo operations of the London Cargo Center, Concorde Express and Menzies Cargo Services. Menzies will own 80% while GlobeGround will own 20% of the new handling firm.
