Brand positioning under lexicographic choice rules

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to characterize a brand positioning framework that supports the positioning of two brands in a price-quality space under a novel behavior assumption. Reaction functions were determined for the optimal location of one brand as a location was given to its competitor. The model supported a sequential choice rule in which consumers lexicographically optimize a utility function that accommodates brand quality and various reservation prices.

The use of domains in multicriteria decision making

Article Abstract:

Proposed approaches to applying domain criteria in multiobjective decision making are designed to obtain complete ordinal and cardinal preference sequences per decision maker. These sequences can then be combined to meet the demands of multiple decision makers. A suggested extension involves integrating the decision maker's domain in an interactive procedure which permits the alteration of set preference statements.
