The company offers advice to firms it invests in, and some of these firms have developed links with exchanges set up by big firms. ICG has to sell transaction support services like hedging tools and credit analysis in order to boost its profits.

Richard Branson is selling a stake of 49% in Virgin Atlantic, and will use the net proceeds of the sale to deal with the problems of Our Price. Meanwhile, Branson aims to invest in internet ventures, and is considering selling mobile phones and other high-tech products through Our Price outlets.
