British Airways sells Air Liberte to French group

British Airways has sold off Air Liberte to a Swissair-linked investment consortium in France for 40 million pounds (68 million euros). Air Liberte performed unprofitably for British Airways.

British Air sees Iberia on horizon: takeover would end string of stumbles, boost consolidation in Europe

Article Abstract:

British Airways PLC has joined a consortium that includes TPG Capital and Spanish investment firms Quercus Equity, Inversiones Ibersuizas S.A., and Vista Capital de Expansion to purchase Spain's Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana S.A. airline. British Air already owns a 10% stake in Iberia and the right of first refusal to an additional 27%, and has already presented Iberia with a $4.59 bil offer prior to joining the Spanish investors.
