British Airways order for superjumbo jetliners gives Airbus needed boost

Article Abstract:

At least one dozen Airbus A380 superjumbo jetliners have been ordered by British Airways PLC, giving Airbus its first new customer for the world's largest jet aircraft since 2005. British Airways has also taken options for seven more. Additionally, the airline has ordered 24 787 Dreamliners from Boeing Co. and optioned up to 18 more.

Ryanair to buy 27 more planes from Boeing

Ireland's Ryanair Holdings PLC will acquire 27 more 737-800 airplanes from Boeing Co., valued at $1.9 bil. They are expected to be delivered between late 2009 to early 2010, and are part of Ryanair's plans for European expansion.

BAE snaps up U.K. contract for trainer jets
