British-Borneo to acquire Hardy Oil

Article Abstract:

British-Borneo Petroleum Syndicate PLC will buy Hardy Oil & Gas PLC in a stock swap deal worth around 339 million pound-sterling ($573 million). Under the terms of the deal, British-Borneo will issue six new shares for every seven Hardy shares and pay Hardy shareholders a penny-per-share interim dividend. The combined company, British Borneo Oil & Gas PLC, has a market capitalization of around 910 million pound-sterling. Analysts lauded the deal, saying the two companies complement each other and, combined, would create a stronger exploration and production concern.
