Burger with fries, hold the democracy

Article Abstract:

The youth of China have fallen prey to excesses and materialism while completely forgetting about the importance of political freedom. The Chinese Generation X have become ambivalent towards political issues and reform in favor of economic reforms which enable them to purchase luxuries such as designer clothes, expensive cars, and western food. The limited understanding of true democracy by Chinese youth has created a generation of individuals who embrace Western consumerism but who abhor western values. As a result, young Chinese willingly play along with government schemes that curtail true political freedom.

Foreign companies face more lawsuits, China-style

Article Abstract:

Observers have noted the growing number of product liability lawsuits being filed by Chinese consumers against multinationals operating in the country. This nascent consumer activism is not directed exclusively at foreign firms but they tend to have more difficulty as compared to their local counterparts. The problem has prompted many foreign companies to focus on good business practices, service training and crisis control.
