GE CAPITAL TO FOCUS ON PORTFOLIO BUYOUTS

Article Abstract:

GE Capital Services India, a 100 percent subsidiary of GE Capital Corporation of the US, has decided to concentrate on portfolio buy-outs rather than wholesale takeover of ailing non-banking finance companies (NBFCs). This decision has been taken after a due diligence exercise conducted in the NBFCs exposed their poor asset quality. The company is also concentrating on providing structured finance solutions to Indian corporates to avoid asset quality problems. (khr)
