CINVen

Article Abstract:

CINVen is one of the UK's most successful and prolific venture capital firms and has maintained its flow of deals in 1995 in spite of the distractions arising from the fact that it looks set to be sold to its management soon. CINVen is being privatised along with the rest of British Coal. CINVen director John Brown attributes the firm's success to its focus on deliverability and consistently delivering deals. It also believes strongly in investing in firms across the board. CINVen has a lean management, with only 14 managers in spite of managing funds of 900 million pounds sterling.

CINVen

Article Abstract:

CINVen is a major player in the European unquoted equity market. The company was involved in two large buyouts in 1994, an acquisition of pubs in England for Magic Pubs, and a buyout worth $550 million of BP Nutrition's last four divisions, Nutreco. CINVen was involved in the Nutreco operation with Baring Capital Investors. CINVen has some 10% of its equity interests located in continental Europe and the demand for unquoted equity capital appears to be increasing in Europe.
