CORO, a modeling and an algorithmic framework for oil supply, transformation and distribution optimization under uncertainty

Article Abstract:

A modeling framework for the optimization of actual supply, transformation and distribution scheduling in the oil industry has been devised. The oil industry was chosen due to its characteristic as a product with multioperator multiproduct multiperiod non-structured network similar problem having uncertainties in the right-hand-side and the objective function coefficients. The problem's stochastic version is tackled through a 2-stage scenario analysis using a splitting variables approach for the multistage linking constraints.

House of quality: a fuzzy logic-based requirement analysis

Article Abstract:

Fuzzy logic-based methodology to business decision making was presented which addresses difficulties associated with the house of quality. The methodology involves the use of fuzzy logic to facilitate communication between different team members and establish a formal representation of requirements. Relationships between requirements, such as conflicting and cooperative relationships, were identified upon establishment of representation.
