Most of the research houses feel that Colgate-Palmolive (India) will be an under-performer in the market in 1998-99. Lloyds Securities predicts that the company will post a net profit of Rs108.8 crore in 1998-99 against its net profit of Rs75.47 crore in 1997-98. Warburg Dillon Read of the US has predicted that the company will post a net profit of Rs48 crore in 1998-99. Birla Marlin Securities has projected that the company will give an earnings per share (EPS) of Rs6.3 in 1998-99 while Lloyds Securities feels that the EPS will be Rs8. (khr)

HSBC Securities has projected that Procter & Gamble India will post a profit of Rs67.30 crore in 1998-99 against its profit of Rs41.57 crore in 1997-98. Cazenove India has predicted that the company will give an earnings per share (EPS) of Rs18 in 1998-99 while Credit Lyonnais India predicts an EPS of Rs21.9.
