Casa to join Eads, forming leading aerospace firm

Article Abstract:

Article discussing the merger plans of Spain's Construcciones Aeronauticas SA (Casa) and Franco-German European Aeronautic Defense & Space Co. (Eads) and the creation of the largest aerospace firm in Europe, which would be an 80% shareholder in Airbus Industrie. In addition, Sepi, the Spanish state holding firm that controls Casa, will take an initial share of 6.25% in Eads.

German pharmaceutical companies are exploring potential electronic commerce business opportunities. Companies such as Bayer AG, BASF AG, and Hoechst AG may not be able to sell pharmaceutical products directly to consumers, but they are preparing in case German consumer laws change. However, business-to-business e-commerce continues to flourish for drug companies.
