J.P. Morgan, Cazenove unveil joint venture

U.K. company, Cazenove Group PLC, is ending its 180-year history as an independent brokerage firm by entering into a joint venture with several U.K. subsidiaries of U.S.-based J.P. Morgan Chase and Co. J.P. Morgan will pay $202.8 million for a 50% stake in the operation and will contribute 50 professionals. Cazenove, which will have a 50% stake in the venture, will continue to maintain full control of its private-equity and fund management businesses.
