Changing the unfriendly Philippine skies

Article Abstract:

Philippine Airlines has once again requested its government to severely reduce the flights of its foreign competitors in the hope of improving its troubled condition. However, it has already resorted to this strategy in the past and this has backfired against the beleaguered airline because the protection policy severely damaged the tourist industry. By limiting other airlines' flights to the Philippines, potential tourists are being shooed away to other countries such as Indonesia and Thailand.

However, it is advised that variable-pay plans need to be objective, start small and be appropriate for the corporate culture.
