China bars factories' toy exports amid crackdown

Article Abstract:

China's Guangdong provincial government announced export bans for 764 toy factories in the nation's southern region following inspections of 1,726 manufacturing sites. The move is part of continuing quality improvement efforts that were prompted by recent product recalls, including toys tainted with lead-based paints.

China, Turkmenistan sign gas deals

Article Abstract:

China and Turkmenistan have signed a deal for China to import natural gas from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. Although details of the deal were not available, the talks have involved 30 bil cubic meters of gas per year for the next three decades via a new pipeline.
