China could become a major technology provider

Article Abstract:

China has experienced great advances in technology ever since the push for the "open door" policy, which began in the 1980s, to modernize the country in the areas of science and technology, and has resulted in strides toward innovations in areas such as crystallography, material science, genetics, ceramics, and energy sciences.
