ChinaTech Listing seeks to bridge Sino-U.S. gap

Article Abstract:

New York City-based China-America Technology Corp. (CTC), together with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, launched a bimonthly publication called the ChinaTech Listing Service in Jan. 1996. Each issue of the publication features 20 to 30 new technologies and products resulting from R&D efforts by Chinese scientists. CTC Pres. and CEO Ngee-Pong Chang says that the service hopes to pave the way for Chinese-American cooperation in the development of new technologies and products.

TCBY sees sweet potential of India's massive market

Article Abstract:

Hartsell Wingfield says that TCBY International has formed a partnership with Indiana Dairy in introducing TCBY frozen yogurt into the Indian market. According to Wingfield, TCBY International will help boost the Indian economy by promoting a product which requires the country's own raw materials. Wingfield foresees no difficulty in penetrating the Indian market despite increasing nationalism among consumers.

U.S. power provider ABB profits from localization

ABB Asea Brown Boveri US Operations Pres. Robert E. Donovan affirms that Asia is a major component of the electrical engineering firm's globalization efforts. Donovan states that ABB tries to acquire majority control of its Asian ventures and undertakes cost-reduction activities across the board. He adds that ABB is committed to establishing as big a local presence as possible.
