Chip foundry in Taiwan posts rise of 60% in net

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. posted an improvement of 60% in its net profits for the second-quarter 1999. The company posted NT$6.02 billion (174.9 million euros) in net profits for the quarter. Taiwan Semiconductor's second-quarter profits rose 47% over the first-quarter. The company's figures were basically what had been predicted. Taiwan Semiconductor's net sales also increased 38% in the quarter.

TSM's profit drops 17% on electronics woes

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM) posted a decline of 17% in its profits for the 2001 first-quarter. The company posted NT$8.42 billion (292.4 million euros) in net profits for the period on a drop in the electronics industry worldwide.

TSMC profit surged in 2000, but 1st quarter looks gloomy

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) posted an increase in net profits for the 2000 year. The company posted NT$65.11 billion (2.14 billion euros) in 2000 net profits, compared to NT$24.56 billion in 1999.
