Alejandro Toledo is a Peruvian presidential candidate who is enjoying a rise in support and has become a serious challenger to Alberto Fujimori, who is seeking to be president for a third term. Toledo is of Indian descent, and has studied in California, at Stanford University Toledo's policies are similar to those of Fujimori, though he also promises jobs, higher wages, and cheap housing. Fujimori has previously faced a divided opposition, though this has become less true.
