Choosing realistic values of indifference, preference and veto thresholds for use with environmental criteria within ELECTRE

Article Abstract:

A method which places both the indifference and preference thresholds into a linear equation increases the utility and effectvity of the ELECTRE III decision aid model in environmental impact assessments. Criticisms on the subjectivity of the thresholds and their subsequent effect on the final decision required a quantification of such thresholds, which was effected by defining the relationship between the indifference and preference thresholds and determining the imprecision between the choice as it leans towards each threshold.

A new system for weighting environmental criteria for use within ELECTRE III

Article Abstract:

A theory from the area of psychology, the personal construct theory, was used to improve the weighting system for environmental criteria used in the ELECTRE III decision aid model. The theory was useful in contextualizing the environmental criteria into bipolar modes, which enables the model to weigh the criteria according to a choice. The choice of criteria was strengthened by the use of a 'resistance to change' grid which compares a criterion to the totality of the criteria, weighing its relative importance.

Using ELECTRE TRI outranking method to sort MOMILP nondominated solutions

Article Abstract:

The ELECTRE TRI method is chosen to help decision makers to identify and classify nondominated solutions resulting from multiple objective mixed integer linear programming(MOMILP) problems. A computation tool was developed with twofold purposes, that is, support the decision maker and provide a test bed for research purposes.
