TNT delivers integrated global account to JWT

Global express delivery service, Amsterdam-based TNT Express Worldwide, has appointed advertising agency J. Walter Thompson to handle its worldwide marketing account. TNT, the world's fourth-largest air express company with sales of $1.7 billion/y, previously operated a regional marketing operation, but this is being centralized along with other activities.

P&G to squeeze media effectiveness says 2nd memo

Consumer products maker Procter and Gamble (P&G) is pressurizing its advertising and media agencies to reduce wastage and cut costs. The company, which is the world's largest advertiser, has sent companies on its rota a memo explaining how media buying should be carried out and how they can help P&G reduce its marketing support spending.
