Creditanstalt seeks a complete review of its wartime past

Article Abstract:

Creditanstalt of Austria and its parent company, Bank Austria, are in talks in New York, NY, with the lawyers of Holocaust survivors to resolve the issue of compensation for the victims. The bank, which was taken over by the Deutsche Bank of Germany during the Nazi era, said it was committed to resolving the issue out of a moral responsibility toward the Jewish people. The Holocaust survivors are seeking compensation for the gold which they claim was stolen from Jewish families by the Nazis and allegedly transferred to Turkey by Creditanstalt.
