Coke posts 37% jump in net income

Coca-Cola Co. of the United States has posted a 37 percent increase in third quarter profit, net income increased to $1.28 billion and revenue rose 7.9 percent to $6.04 billion. The biggest push is from the sales of noncarbonated drinks. Chief Executive Officer Neville Isdell came out of retirement to turn the company around.

Coca-Cola Co. of the United States posted a 28 percent drop in fourth quarter profit to $864 million from $1.2 million a year earlier. The beverage giant was hurt by a tax charge although sales sustained momentum.
