Colombia critic countered

Article Abstract:

Colombia's Comptroller, General David Torbay, has criticised the government for raffling state assets at ridiculously low prices during the privatization process. Ministers have defended their privatization record and say that a further round of sales are planned. Among them is state-owned mining company Carbones de Colombia, which will be sold for some $500 million, plus a 61% stake in savings and loan corporation Concasa. Other assets to be sold include stakes in banks Bancoldex and Banco Popular, and 15% of state energy distributor Interconnexion Electrica.
