Surprise Piranha IV

Article Abstract:

Vickers Defense Systems announced its receipt of the license to build Mowag's Piranha IV, not the least surprising Aldis, which holds the license for the new model's predecessor, Piranha III. The new model is envisioned to respond to the requirement of the British Army for a multi- purpose armored vehicle and is expected to rival the French Army's Vehicule de Combat Infanterie. Piranha IV has capacity for a 10-ton payload and has an internal volume of 12 cu m.

ACV-IFV heads Turkey's armored advance

Article Abstract:

FNSS Savunam Sistemleri of Turkey is major producer of armored infantry and related vehicles. The company is a joint venture between United Defense which owns a 51% stake and Nurol Group of Turkey which holds the remaining 49% interest. FNSS manufactures ACV-IFVs, the infantry fighting vehicle version of the Armored Combat Vehicle. FNSS expects to receive an additional order of its ACVs from the Turkish Army by the end of 1999.
