Consumers warm to cybergroceries

Article Abstract:

Selling food through the Internet is increasingly becoming a trend in Canada. For instance, Toronto-based online food retailer PeachTree Network reported that its sales jumped by 250% when snowy weather hit the city in Jan 1999. Together with Grocery Gateway of Toronto and Sobeys Quebec, the three companies are the only ones selling groceries via the Internet. Operating under the IGA store banner, their total annual average sales amount to $2.5 million. For now, that pales in comparison with traditional grocers, who earn $40 to $50 billion annually.

Online retailers deliver Xmas goods

Article Abstract:

Williams Group. Inspite of that, a survey conducted by research firm Pollara indicates that 82% respondents considered online retailers' service to be excellent or good.
