Corporate Integration and Market Liberalisation in the EU

Article Abstract:

European countries differ so greatly in national culture and economic barriers that it is doubtful that a truly Single European Market will ever exist. Greater efficiency throughout the European marketplace can be obtained, however, by the selective deregulation of certain industries. Immediate attention should be given to the deregulation of core functions such as company law and taxation. Business management should work within their national framework to create further organisational efficiency.

Transnational marketing joint ventures: a viable market penetration strategy in the EU?

Article Abstract:

An investigation of the performance of such joint ventures shows that they are undertaken to control and protect existing markets in the foreign markets, while there is little evidence of the transfer of knowledge and expertise.
